This will be a fun evening at the Fort Orange Club including a Special Operations panel discussion featuring Alan ‘Al’ Mack, bourbon tasting from Leatherwood Distillery and Short Barrel Bourbon, dinner and après cigars!

Alan Mack is a retired Chief Warrant Officer pilot and was a senior aviator lead for the famous 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, the famed “Night Stalkers” who fly the specialized helicopters used by Special Operations. Alan was the flight lead during the post 9/11 response for the insertions of the Special Operations Forces into northern Afghanistan. He inserted the famed Special Forces Detachment Alpha 595, the famed Horse Soldiers, and was the flight lead for the for the raids against Osama bin Laden’s sanctuaries to include the famed battle of Takur Gar also known as “Robert’s Ridge”. He flew for 20 years in the 160th and took part in most major classified missions during that period.  Al currently is living and working in New York.

Alan and the other Special Operators will present an unclassified panel discussion on the current geopolitical situation followed by an audience question-and-answer session with transitioning Special Operators.  Special Operations Forces are currently deployed around the world in support of U.S. national interests and often act as the leading edge of US diplomacy, stabilization, and conflict resolution.  These Special Operators will provide their first-hand accounts and insights into topics that include near peer competition with Russia and China, Islamic fundamentalism, information dominance, and global organized crime/narcotics.

These service members not only represent the tip of the spear defending our Nation, but also the tip of the spear in terms of talent, bravery, and dedication.
